I'm basically talking to nobody but I shall continue out of complete and utter boredom; I'm officially 2 days post op. And I'm in so much freaking pain, only people who have actually had surgery can possibly understand what this pain feels like. Friday I had a Bard (the brand) port and a shunt assistant placed. The port is something I have been requesting for quite a while now and it is due to my horrific viens that no one can every get blood out of or place iv's. I'm hoping the recovery pain will be worth it. The shunt assistant is to help my over drainage problem that causes me to be bedridden. I am in a lot of pain. I already had 2 incisions on my neck so I requested that the neurosurgeon use one of those to attach the shunt assistant. But unfortunately, once he cut it open he realized that was not an option so he had to make an additional incision on my neck. I also had to have 2 new incision made on the left side of my chest to inseet the port. One of them is very tiny and only has one stitch in it and the other one has a bandage over it so I haven't seen the damage. That's it for today. Thanks for not reading my blog!
